The faculty will demonstrate their specific indications for skin grafts, local flaps, regional flaps and free flaps for coverage of extensive or complex defects of the hand, wrist and elbow. The anatomy and dissection of the most commonly used flaps will be highlighted.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify the indications for skin grafts, local flaps, pedicled flaps and free flaps for coverage of the hand, wrist and elbow.
- Recognize the indications for use of the VAC dressing and dermal substitutes as an alternative to grafts and flaps.
