Resident education is an evolving process. This program will focus on educating residents in upper extremity surgery. The workshop will review the current principles critical to effective teaching and learning. We will be evaluating different teaching methods, curriculum development, and evaluation of residents' skills and knowledge as well as the teaching program and methods. These techniques and strategies will be examined with participant interaction.
Learning Objectives:
- Development of curriculum for resident education in upper extremity surgery
- Assess different approaches to teaching: readings, lectures/didactics, motor skills lab, anatomy/cadaver lab, video/web cast, review tests, and experiential learning
- Discuss evaluation methods to assess residents' knowledge and skills as well as to assess the teaching program itself
