The spectrum of congenital hand problems and the various phenotypes defies "cookbook" surgery. The indications, timing, and technique vary from surgeon to surgeon. There remain many challenging differences that defy classification and thwart standard surgical reconstruction. This symposium will discuss various challenging congenital hand differences. The goal is to differentiate those conditions that have a clearly defined treatment surgical algorithm from those conditions that require "out of the box" thinking or complex reconstruction. This symposium will also attempt to define parameters that warrant referral and to establish basic guidelines for treatment.
Learning Objective: To compare and contrast various congenital differences with regards to diagnosis, treatment, and expected outcomes.
